About the role

Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site | Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Salary Range: $135,000 – $145,000 per year



Additional Pay: 8 percent geographic differential for Texas Medical Center location

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts | Rotating weekends & holidays | No on-call

Position Overview

Join a nationally acclaimed healthcare system as a Heart Failure ICU Nurse Practitioner, where you will play a critical role in managing high-acuity cardiac patients including those recovering from advanced heart failure, post-cardiac surgeries, and transplant procedures. Key Responsibilities

Conduct inpatient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for cardiovascular ICU patients

Manage patients on advanced cardiac support systems including LVADs, ECMO (VV/VA), mechanical circulatory devices, and heart/lung transplants

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and recovery

Provide post-operative support to patients following complex cardiac surgeries

Uphold compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and facility clinical protocols

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Required Qualifications

Active AGACNP (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) certification

Current and unrestricted RN and APRN license in the state of Texas

National certification in Acute Care from ANCC, AANP, AACN, or NCC

Valid BLS and ACLS certifications

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an RN or NP in ICU, Cardiology, or Cardiovascular Care

Experience working with patients on LVADs, ECMO, transplants, or complex cardiac conditions

Preferred Qualifications

Prior NP experience in Acute Care ICU or Cardiovascular ICU

RN background in caring for fresh transplants, CV surgical recovery, or high-acuity cardiac patients

Strong commitment to serving advanced heart failure populations in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
