# Surgical Technician – Open Heart Surgery

* Location: Oregon City, OR (On-Site)
* Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
* Schedule: Monday – Sunday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
* Compensation: $30 – $35 / hr + Relocation Assistance (Regional)
* Eligibility: U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders only
## Key Responsibilities
* Maintain sterile surgical areas and prepare instruments for cardiovascular and open-heart procedures.
* Anticipate surgeon and team needs during surgery to ensure efficiency and safety.
* Participate in pre-op briefings, time-outs, and intraoperative reassessments.
* Handle sterile packs, instruments, and surgical supplies; assist with reprocessing and restocking.
* Follow all infection control, HIPAA, and OR safety standards.
* Assist with room turnovers, cleaning, and procurement of supplies/equipment.
* Provide support during emergency surgical situations.
## Required Qualifications
* Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
* Licensure/Certifications:
* Surgical Technologist Certificate (Required)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
* Experience:
* Minimum 1 year as a Surgical Technician (open-heart/cardiovascular experience preferred).
* Skills:
* Proficient with sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and OR protocols.
* Strong manual dexterity and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment.
## ⭐Preferred Qualifications
* 2–5 years of surgical scrub experience (cardiovascular cases preferred).
* Familiarity with reprocessing instruments and sterile core operations.
* Experience supporting multiple surgical specialties in inpatient or ambulatory settings.
