About the role
### *Role Overview*
The *MRI Technologist* performs *Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)* procedures to produce detailed diagnostic images of internal body structures.
These images are used by radiologists and physicians for diagnosis and treatment planning.
> ⚕ *Must hold a valid ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification and BLS/ACLS certification.*

### *Key Responsibilities*
* Perform MRI procedures: prepare patients, explain procedures, position accurately, and ensure scan quality.
* Administer contrast agents when required and monitor patient response.
* Enter, verify, and maintain patient data in the system.
* Conduct quality assurance and safety checks on MRI equipment.
* Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or incidents to department leadership.
* Support accreditation renewals (ACR and others) as needed.
* Participate in emergency call rotations.
* Uphold patient care standards aligned with *Memorial Hermann’s* policies and service excellence goals.
* Mentor and guide junior technologists as needed.

### *Qualifications*
*Education:*
Graduate of an accredited *School of Radiologic Technology*
*Licenses / Certifications:*
✅ *Basic or Advanced Life Support (BLS/ACLS)* — Required
✅ *One of the following:*
* Registered *MRI Technologist (ARRT-MR)*, or
* Registered *MRI Technologist (ARMRIT)*
*Skills & Experience:*
* Prior hands-on MRI scanning experience preferred
* Strong patient-handling and communication skills
* Ability to lift/move patients with assistance
* Knowledge of MRI safety and quality control protocols
