About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Architect licensed in the State of Washington to lead projects from concept through completion for our client firm. This role is ideal for a creative yet detail-oriented professional who thrives at the intersection of design vision and technical precision. The Project Architect will collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure design excellence, code compliance, and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the design and documentation process from schematic design through construction administration.
*Manage diverse project types: Commercial, healthcare clinics, K-12, multifamily, and aviation.
*Collaborate directly with clients to understand needs, goals, and budget constraints, translating them into innovative design solutions.
Prepare and oversee construction documents, specifications, and permit submittals in compliance with Washington State and local building codes.
Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and contractors to ensure technical accuracy and constructibility.
*Oversee project schedules, deliverables, and budgets, ensuring all deadlines and milestones are met.
*Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and provide detailed field reports.
*Mentor and support junior staff, offering guidance on design standards, technical best practices, and career development.
*Remain current on local codes, zoning regulations, sustainability standards, and emerging industry trends to inform project solutions.
Qualifications
*Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
*Licensed Architect in the State of Washington (required).
*5–10+ years of professional architectural experience, including a track record of managing projects from design through construction.
*Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office; experience with Enscape or Lumion is a plus.
*Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, ADA compliance, and WA permitting processes.
*Exceptional design sensibility combined with deep technical expertise.
*Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
*Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
