About the role

About the Role:

As Engineering Manager at Sesame Solar, you will play a pivotal role in leading the innovation, design, development, and implementation of our 100 percent Renewably Powered Mobile Nanogrid solutions. You will be responsible for energy system integration, maintaining engineering drawings, and managing project deliverables and timelines.


Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of engineering design disciplines relevant to Mobile Nanogrid development.
  • Stay current with advancements in renewable energy technologies.
  • Collaborate across teams to provide technical guidance during Nanogrid design and manufacturing, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges, emphasizing quality and process efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on support for system assemblies and team system integration efforts.
  • Establish and oversee quality assurance processes.


Project Management:

  • Define project goals, scope, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Break down projects into actionable tasks and assign ownership in coordination with the Head of Manufacturing.
  • Track project progress, proactively manage risks, and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, working closely with the Head of Manufacturing.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive documentation for all Nanogrid systems, including design prints and user manuals.


Communication & Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with your manager, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Clearly articulate technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Actively participate in meetings and discussions, fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration.


Metrics & Analysis:

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decisions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant engineering experience. Master's degree preferred.


Strong technical skills and knowledge in:

  • Renewable energy systems (solar, wind, green hydrogen)
  • Engineering design (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar modeling software)
  • Passion for quality and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for innovation and a strong desire to make a positive impact.
  • Experience in a startup environment is a plus.

Compensation Information: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. Salaried position, no overtime pay. Performance bonus up to 30 percent of salary. No relocation package is offered.


Travel: Approximately 35 percent travel to support customers, partners, and events.
