# Transmission Line Engineer


Location: Rochester, NY Metropolitan Area (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $85,000 – $125,000 / Year

Start Date: October 27, 2025

## About the Role


The firm is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join its growing operations in the Northeast U.S. power transmission and distribution sector. This position offers exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects, a hybrid work environment, and opportunities for career growth and training.



## Key Responsibilities


* Design and manage transmission line projects from planning through implementation.

* Perform conductor selection, insulation studies, grounding, and A/C interference analysis.

* Develop detailed line designs (plans, profiles, cross-sections, cost estimates).

* Use LiDAR/aerial survey data and integrate environmental factors into design.

* Review and create plans/profile drawings using PLSCAD in compliance with AVANGRID TM and NESC standards.

* Strategize routing considering right-of-way, congestion, permitting, and reliability.

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance and success.


## Qualifications


* Bachelor’s in Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering field.

* 3–5+ years of power system civil engineering experience (transmission line preferred).

* PE license preferred.

* Proficiency with PLSCAD and line design software.

* Strong understanding of environmental, structural, and regulatory considerations.
