About the role
About the role
You will design, build and ship features end to end across Zettabolt's AI-assisted business products — applications that pull in information from email, messaging and documents, run AI agents over it, and present the results to users in a web interface. The work spans API design, data modelling, frontend development, third-party integrations and AI agent workflows, on a TypeScript stack used across several products in different industries. This role suits engineers who think in systems — who can trace a problem from the UI through the API, database and background jobs to an external service — and who use AI coding tools as a deliberate part of how they work, while still owning the correctness of everything they ship.
Job Description : Software Engineer, Full Stack Zettabolt
Key responsibilities
Design, build and maintain versioned REST APIs in TypeScript, with request validation, consistent response and error contracts, and OpenAPI documentation.
Build frontend features in React/Next.js with a clean separation between the HTTP layer, server state and UI state.
Model data and write migrations for document databases, with attention to indexes, query patterns and backward compatibility.
Integrate third-party services: OAuth sign-in, email and messaging APIs, and document processing such as parsing and OCR.
Build and extend AI-driven features: LLM-backed agents and workflows, prompt and tool design, and tracing and evaluation of agent runs. Work from tickets: break down requirements, clarify ambiguity, estimate, and deliver changes as small, reviewable pull requests across multiple repositories.
Analyse problems at the systems level — reproduce, read logs and traces, isolate the failing layer, and fix root causes rather than symptoms.
Write unit and end-to-end tests, take part in code and design reviews, and keep linting, commit conventions and CI checks healthy.
Use AI coding assistants to plan, implement, test and review code, and help improve the team's AI-assisted workflow.
Support packaging and delivery of the products, including on-premise and desktop distributions and their update pipeline.
Required qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
2 years of professional experience building web applications across backend and frontend.
Strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript, including asynchronous programming, the type system and module structure.
Solid experience designing and building REST APIs with a Node.js framework NestJS, Express or similar): routing, validation, error handling, versioning and pagination.
Hands-on experience with a modern frontend framework (React preferred), including state management and data fetching.
Working knowledge of at least one database MongoDB, PostgreSQL or similar): schema design, indexing and migrations. Good understanding of HTTP, authentication (OAuth 2.0, tokens, sessions), CORS and web security basics.
Comfort with Git, code review, and working from tickets in a tracker (Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues or similar).
Systems-level debugging skills: reading logs, using a debugger, and reasoning about processes, network calls, concurrency and failure modes across services.
Clear written communication in tickets, pull request descriptions and design notes.
Preferred qualifications Experience using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar) on real production work, and the judgement to know when to trust, verify or rewrite their output.
Experience building LLM-powered features: LangChain/LangGraph, OpenAI or Anthropic APIs, tool calling, prompt design, and agent evaluation and observability (e.g., LangSmith). Experience with NestJS, Next.js (App Router), TanStack Query, Redux Toolkit, Tailwind CSS, Mongoose or Zod.
Experience integrating APIs such as Microsoft Graph, Google Workspace or messaging platforms.
Testing experience with Jest, Supertest or Playwright.
Familiarity with Electron, background jobs and pollers, structured logging and observability.
Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar) for automated builds, tests and releases.
Disciplined Git workflow: feature branches, pull-request reviews, rebasing and conflict resolution, Conventional Commits, pre-commit hooks, and versioned releases.
Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS, Azure or GCP
compute, storage, managed databases, secrets and networking — including containerisation with Docker.
Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect
Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ204), or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer.
Projects or open-source contributions in full-stack development, API design or AI applications.
Experience with our exact stack is a plus, not a requirement. Strong TypeScript, API and systems fundamentals matter most;
we will help you ramp up on the rest.
Handson experience with AI-driven development is a significant advantage.
What we offer
End-to-end ownership of features in production AI products, from database and API to UI.
Work across multiple products in different industries, built on a shared stack and shared conventions.
Day-to-day use of modern AI coding tools as a core part of the engineering workflow.
Mentorship from engineers experienced in systems software, backend architecture and AI applications.
Clear growth path with ownership of meaningful components. Competitive compensation aligned with experience and level.
How to apply Send your resume with a short note on full-stack, API or AI projects you have worked on. For each project, include your role, the problem, how you approached it, and the outcome. If you use AI coding tools, tell us briefly how they fit into your workflow. Links to GitHub, deployed applications or published work are welcome
