## About the Role
We are seeking a Sales Manager (Food Industry) to lead sales programs for national grocery and big-box retail accounts. The role requires strong experience in Meats, Prepared Meals, or Fresh Food and a track record in both account management and new business acquisition.
This position offers a hybrid work model based in Sterling, VA, and involves up to 50 percent travel to key clients and trade events.
## ⚙️Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute strategic sales plans across national grocery & big-box retailers.
* Lead new business development while managing existing accounts.
* Oversee P&L, trade promotions, and merchandising strategies.
* Manage broker networks and set clear KPIs.
* Leverage retail data tools (SPINS, IRI, Nielsen) for insights and performance tracking.
* Drive product launches and market penetration across multiple categories.
* Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers (KDMs) and distribution partners.
* Prepare accurate forecasts, reports, and sales analytics.
## Qualifications
✅ 5–10+ years of experience in food sales to national grocery or big-box retailers.
✅ Proven success in launching new food products and exceeding KPIs.
✅ Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
✅ Must have direct exposure to consumer-packaged foods (CPG).
✅ Willingness to travel 25–50%.
