  • Connect, extract, transform, and load data from various sources such as relational databases, flat files, APIs, and cloud platforms.
  • Optimize transformation performance using best practices like partitioning, lookup caching, and memory tuning.
  • Maintain and enhance existing ETL jobs and workflows to accommodate evolving data models and business requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation including data mappings, job schedules, and error handling logs.
  • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and reporting teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Perform unit testing, troubleshoot ETL failures, and participate in code reviews.
  • Schedule jobs using Pentaho scheduler or external tools (e.g., Control-M, cron, etc.).
  • Support production systems, including monitoring jobs and resolving incidents in a timely manner.

‍ Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle).
  • Strong knowledge of ETL concepts, data integration patterns, and data warehousing principles (e.g., star/snowflake schema).
  • Advanced SQL skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).
  • Proficient in scripting languages: Shell, Python, or JavaScript for automation.
  • Experience working with various data sources including APIs (REST/SOAP), flat files (CSV, Excel), and cloud storage.
  • Understanding of data quality, data governance, and lineage principles.
  • Familiar with version control (e.g., Git, SVN) and CI/CD integration (e.g., Jenkins).

✨ Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Pentaho Reporting, Pentaho BI Server, or Mondrian OLAP.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud-native ETL.
  • Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) is a plus.
  • Experience in Agile environments and use of tools like Jira/Confluence.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
