Requirements:
- A minimum of7 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in coding systems, including ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to interpret complex medical information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Certification in medical coding, such as CPC or CCS, with ongoing education and professional development
- Familiarity with electronic health records and coding software, with ability to learn new systems and technologies
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assign and sequence codes for diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review and analyze medical records, including patient histories, diagnoses, and treatments
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to clarify coding questions and resolve discrepancies
