Job Title
IT Applications Analyst – Power Trading (Excel/SQL)
Summary:
In this role, the analyst will be pivotal in providing direct IT development and support for our clients wholesale power and congestion trading operations. This role will involve daily collaboration with the IT lead and will actively support databases, calculations, and associated data integration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Front Office (Traders) with data management, quantitative analysis, and application development.
• Work with PJM, New York, and/or Northeast power markets (knowledge preferred).
• Manage relational & non-relational databases; develop complex logic in schemas.
• Create/enhance standard & custom reports and workflows.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
Required Skills:
• Advanced Excel (tables, pivots, statistical functions, VBA).
• SQL Server and database architecture.
• Experience with large datasets.
• Time series or pricing models.
• ETRM systems (plus).
• Congestion trading / Financial Transmission Rights (plus).
• R language (plus).
• Python (plus).
• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years relevant experience.
