About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist V to lead and advance our infection prevention and control initiatives. This role is central to ensuring patient safety, staff protection, and regulatory compliance across our facility. You will manage infection prevention programs, oversee surveillance efforts, provide education, and drive performance improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control programs in alignment with CDC, NHSN, and organizational standards.
  • Surveillance & Analysis: Monitor infection trends, investigate outbreaks, and analyze data to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Education & Training: Design and deliver engaging training programs for staff to enhance awareness and compliance with infection prevention best practices.
  • Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with leadership and multidisciplinary teams on performance improvement projects, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Certification: CIC required within 24 months of hire.
  • Experience:
  • Master’s degree + 5 years (2 years in related field), OR
  • Bachelor’s degree + 7 years (4 years in related field), OR
  • RN + 9 years (6 years in related field), OR
  • 10 years of directly related experience (no degree).
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Infection prevention expertise in hospital/healthcare settings.
  • Strong background in data analysis, outbreak investigation, and hazard mitigation.
  • Familiarity with emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
